Introduction to Explanation Writing.

We are learning about explanation writing and how to structure our ideas using the TIIC and SEE frameworks. An explanation text is a type of writing that tells us how or why something happens. It provides clear information, logical sequencing, and detailed examples to help the reader understand a process or concept.

Today, we explored what makes a good explanation and practised identifying key features in a model text. We worked on a highlighting task to find the Title, Introduction, Information, and Conclusion, as well as the Statement, Explanation, and Example in each paragraph.

Next, we’ll use this knowledge to write our own explanation texts!
